The long dining table beneath the wisteria-covered veranda

Stay at Metato House

A village home in the hills above Camaiore.

The house

A three-storey stone house above the Versilia coast, looking across wooded valleys towards the sea.

Old beams, deep-set windows and the quiet character of the building remain. Life here moves between cool interiors, long lunches beneath the wisteria and evenings beside the fire.

The village

A quiet base above the coast.

The house sits in a small stone village of narrow lanes, old houses and a church. There is little here by design — and that is part of its appeal.

The village restaurant looks across the hills. Pietrasanta, Forte dei Marmi and Lucca are all within reach by car.
